Iran’s International Printing and Packaging Industry Exhibition
Iran with a growing population of 79 million and a GDP of 393.5 billion USD in 2015 is one of the most emerging markets in the world. During the last couple of years the country has built up a large backlog of foreign investment and technology. The removal of the sanctions will lead to a strong upswing, and the GDP is expected to grow by 6.1% in 2016. 41.3% of Iran’s inhabitants are is less than 25 years old and are thirsty for consumption.
Although the Iranian printing and packaging is in progress, the technology is still around fifteen years behind. The market offers great opportunities.
Since the “Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action” that has been adopted in October 2015, the Iranian market offers great opportunities. Traditionally the country was oriented towards Europe, particularly towards Germany. The economic sanctions imposed on Iran had turned print house owners’ and the packaging industry’s attention to China, South Korea and Taiwan. During the past ten years European machinery producers have lost a major part of their market share in Iran.
