drupa 2020 Dates Brought Forward by 1 Week

The dates of the world’s most important trade fair for printing technologies will be brought forward by one week: drupa is to take place now from Tuesday, 16 June, to Friday, 26 June 2020. This was agreed by the drupa Committee and Messe Düsseldorf at their meeting on 15 February 2017. The key argument for this decision was the fact that in some European countries as well as German states the summer holidays would have already started during the initially planned dates (23 June to 3 July 2020). By changing the dates Messe Düsseldorf is responding to requests voiced by both exhibitors and visitors alike.

Explaining the move Werner Dornscheidt, President and CEO of Messe Düsseldorf, said: “When we decided to stick to the 4-year cycle of drupa in consultation with the leading representatives of the industry during drupa 2016, the majority of holiday dates had not been published yet.” He went on to say: “Now we are really pleased that we can offer this solution although there is hardly any room for manoeuvre in the packed trade fair year of 2020. The fact that we agreed on a more compact stand construction period also contributes to holding the entire trade fair in June. And we are delighted to be able to act in our customers’ interest by kicking off one week earlier than originally planned.”
